Campaign Initiatives
Spread The Word
In order for our campaign to be successful, it is imperative that we seek
out support from other fans of The Black Donnellys and viewers who are tired
of quality shows disappearing from their television screens. There were
over 5 million people who watched the show, many of whom either do not know
that The Black Donnellys has been officially cancelled or do not know that
we are working to resurrect it for Season 2. We have to reach those people
any way we can because this campaign will not succeed if only a handful of
people participate. The success of the Save The Black Donnellys campaign depends on you.
Here's a list of some of the things that you can do to help spread the word
to other fans and potential viewers:
Tell everyone you know about TBD and ask them to check out Season 1 on
HDNet on Wednesday evenings or online at nbc.com or Itunes.
Change your email signature to include a reference to the Save TBD
campaign and this website (www.savetheblackdonnellys.net).
Add information about TBD and the Save TBD campaign to your myspace,
livejournal, and facebook pages and send bulletins about the campaign to
your network of friends. Include links to fan websites (like
www.thefirecrackerlounge.com), petitions, and news articles to spark
interest.
Join and participate in online forums for TBD fans. Encourage other forum
members to join our campaign. If you are already a member of forums for
other TV shows, consider recruiting some of your forum buddies to help us
out by watching TBD and joining in our campaign efforts. This does not mean
spamming every popular TV forum you can think of. Instead, consider posting
in forum sections designated for threads that are "off topic" or related to
other television shows. Or send a private message to other users who you
have connected with. Above all, be polite and do not respond to negative
posts. We want others to join us, not hate us.
Record an episode or two on VHS or DVD and pass it along to your friends
and other people who you think might enjoy TBD. As one campaign member
suggested, getting someone to actually watch the show is much more effective
than explaining what the show is about. This proved to be a successful
tactic for the fans of Firefly, so start recording!
